Upstairs is a museum that you may visit for a small fee and is left from the set of the Johnny Depp movie "Public Enemies." Downstairs they will show you the room with bullet holes in the wall and window.

The entry foyer has some news clippings and photos from Dillinger's escape and from the movie. Food there is great too!

Little Bohemia Lodge - Dillinger Shootout

This is the site where John Dillinger and his gang were holed up as the FBI raided them. Obviously they had escaped but during the shootout they left behind bullet holes and clothes that are still visible today. It is open to the public and is currently a restaurant and Dillinger exhibit.

Little Bohemia - Dillinger Shootout

A restaurant here in the Northwoods was the scene of a gun battle led by the young FBI agent Melvin Purvis in an effort to capture John Dillinger. Dillinger escaped by running along the shoreline of the lake on which the restaurant is located. They preserved the bullet holes in the paneling and the windows, and have a display of some memorabilia.

[Anna Richter, 11/18/2002]

The gun battle was on April 28, 1934.
