The Muffler Man at Croft Automotive and Trailer is officially gone. I went for a visit and the owner said he has since moved on to another place -- hopefully not the trash!
[Kayti McMyermick, 10/14/2017]The folks at Croft Trailer took me out back and showed me "humpty dumpty" -- he's in rough shape, laying on his back, with his head severed. They said a few people have tried to buy him but he's not for sale, and they still plan on restoring him. Storm damage has happened once before and he lasted 5 years before being blown down again. This time it's gonna be a job though, his arms are torn off at the elbow and are laying to the side and his head is torn off and his cowboy hat is ripped up into a few pieces. From the neck down though, he's in almost perfect shape.

This fallen Muffler Man lays in pieces behind Croft Automotive in Valley Park. Poor guy was blown off their roof. The good news is they are still planning on fixing him. I look forward to seeing him repaired sometime in the future, Thanks to the Croft folks for allowing me to take a few pictures.

An update on our Muffler Man (at Croft Trailer 49 Elam Road) which you list as "gone" as of 2009. Our MM blew down in a windstorm, suffering some minor damage on his body, but also detaching the islets we used to tie him down.
We have our own fiberglass restoration abilities and will be restoring him this winter.
He is NOT gone. He is in our back lot, injured, patiently waiting to be fixed.

This Muffler Man had been lying in pieces since 2009. Joel at American Giants bought him to restore in October 2016. It will not return to this location but perhaps elsewhere as a publicly visible Phillips 66 Cowboy
