Los Osos Bear
Los Osos is Spanish for "the bears" and was named the Valley of the Bears from Gaspar de Portol's expedition in 1769. The Los Osos Bear is the mascot of the town. The statue was created by local artist Paula Zima.
Park at the corner of South Bay Boulevard and Turri Road and walk 400 feet south to the Bear. Take only pictures and be prepared to donate blood for all the crazy mosquitos that will swarm you!
