More upscale than most abandoned railroad tunnels, with underground lighting, a paved walking path, and a parking area. 1,200 feet long.

- Directions:
- From Speedway Ave. turn west at the blue State Police sign onto Suncrest Blvd. At the stop sign turn left onto Morgantown Ave. Drive a half-mile. Turn left onto Amos St., then immediately turn left again onto Winfield St. You'll quickly see the trailhead parking area on the left. It's a quarter-mile walk to the tunnel entrance.

This 1,200-foot tunnel is part of the Marion County Rail Trail. It burrows beneath Speedway Avenue, Morgantown Avenue, and Suncrest Boulevard. The tunnel was built in 1914 by the Monongahela Railroad. The beginning of the rail trail is off of Winfield Street.
