This giant wall mural is a tribute to musician James Brown in his hometown. The mural, titled "The Spirit of Funk," was created by artist Cole Phail and completed in October 2020 on the side of the building at 879 Broad Street (corner of Broad Street and James Brown Boulevard) in downtown Augusta. These photos were taken as the artist was putting the finishing touches on his work.
