This is beautiful and peaceful, and it's wonderful to have a place to channel grief, whether that grief is recent or longstanding. Previous visitors to the Wind Phone have left painted rocks in memory of their loved ones. Since we are all eventually grievers, I hope many more will experience the comfort of this space.

Wish you could talk to your departed friend or family member one more time? In Marshall (just north of Asheville) is a phone booth with disconnected phone. Many believe that by talking to those we have lost, words are carried into the wind to them. Based off of an Itaru Sasakis site in Japan, the hope is that this location gives comfort to people in America. Many leave painted rocks of remembrance and notes on social media. This site is in a holler where voices and noise travels. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
