Young Abe, a voracious reader, is depicted multitasking: his left hand holds the reins of his horse while his right hand holds the book that his nose is buried in. The horse is multitasking, too: walking while eating grass. Created by Anna Hyatt Huntington, the sculpture arrived at Syracuse University in 1974, six years after the installation of the school's Seated Lincoln statue.
