Icicle duel.

Blue Ridge Tunnel

Amazing! We went in winter and I was skeptical -- but the icicles were spectacular. Be sure to bring a real flashlight. The path is completely flat; it would even be stroller accessible. Perfect family outing. It's about one mile to the tunnel (and one mile through it), for a total there-and-back-again of four miles.

[Jennifer Kefer, 01/01/2021]

The eastern, Afton approach to the tunnel is flat, as is the tunnel itself. The western, Waynesboro approach is steep.
