The Uncle Remus Museum is a pretty little place in a town with old buildings nearby.
[Andrew Patron, 10/07/2010]Eatonton is the hometown of Joel Chandler Harris, author of the Uncle Remus stories. The museum itself is a small, two room log cabin (once occupied by slaves). It consists of artifacts, collectors items, and shadow boxes containing scenes from the stories. There is a statue of Brer Rabbit in front, as well as nice gardens. While Uncle Remus is no longer in publication because it is politically incorrect, the history presented was very interesting and well worth the admission.
