- Poverty Point World Heritage Site. I-20 exit 153. Drive north on LA-17 for 11.5 miles. At the stoplight turn right onto LA-134. Drive 4.5 miles. Turn left onto LA-577. Drive one mile. Park in the lot on the east side of the road, then walk back west across the road, following the paved walking trail to the grass trail to the stairs to the top of the mound.
