Jefferson, Maryland: Fake Castle for War Correspondents
Completed in 1896, an imposing 50-foot-high front wall of a castle memorializes reporters killed in the Civil War. It was built by a former war reporter, and long after he died it was found that he got a lot of the names wrong.

We came across this little gem on our way to Spook Hill (Gravity Vortex, Gravity Hill). Very impressive. With a lot of history.
