- Harrison Cemetery. From Kinston drive south on AL-52 for 1.5 miles. Turn east onto AL-494. Drive one mile. Turn north at the stop sign onto AL-473. Drive one mile. Turn right onto AL-484 (a dirt road). Drive a quarter-mile to the cemetery, on the right. The distinctive-shape bed grave is on the back edge of the small cemetery.

When William "Grancer" Harrison died in 1860, he was buried in a tiny local cemetery, perpetually resting on his feather bed, in a custom above-ground sarcophagus.

I visited the cemetery in April 2022. The Grancer Harrison tomb is aged and in desperate need of freshening up, but a new "Legends and Lore" marker was placed beside it last year, which was a nice touch.
