Witch Rock of Moll Dyer

Moll Dyer, accused of witchcraft, died on this rock in 1698. Generations of tourists pressed their palms into her supposed handprint. Moved to this spot in Feb. 2021, and now protected under a plexiglass shield.

Witch Rock of Moll Dyer

Came by to check out the witch rock. It is under a top cover plexiglass, and has small objects left for her (painted rock, statues and flowers). There's a nice plaque beside it explaining the story.

I couldn't really make out a handprint but still worth seeing. The rock is located right next to the historic old jail and the town is very charming.

The rock was next to the jail seen in this photo until February 2021, when it was moved to a new spot a few blocks away.
