A surprising number of violent criminals (including at least one ax murderer) ended up in this small, supposedly haunted jail. See a model of the gallows, and a dummy prisoner hanging by his fingers outside one of the barred windows.

The Old County Jail is only open on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. The entire jail building was locked, but we walked to the nearby historical society building at 915 Walnut Street and they unlocked it to let us tour the jail.
