So much more than The Creature now!
[Darren Collins, 07/18/2011]
Artist Charles Ringer created "The Creature," an 18 ft. tall welded metal humanoid sculpture along the road in Joliet. Skiiers often stop and pray to it for snow.
[Donna Healy, 02/06/2003]October 2007: Photo from Tom Beattie. March 2003: Donna from the Billings Gazette provided this tip during an interview. The Creature was built in 1982 out of steel pipe, cable, and a water tank. According to Charles Ringer's Web site you can buy 16-inch Creature metal silhouettes from him for $225. And don't forget -- in Joliet it is still illegal to mispronounce the name "Joliet."
