[Sharon, 03/23/2021]The home The Mick grew up in and yard where he practiced are just a short distance from his high school and statue, at 319 S Quincy. The home and shed are not in great shape, but it appears efforts are being made to preserve them.

"Where Mickey learned to play the game" according to a plaque mounted next to its front door. The home had been partly restored to the way it looked when Mickey -- feared slugger for the New York Yankees -- was seven, but the plaque is cracked and it looks like one of the front porch pillars is about to give way.
