[Sharon, 03/23/2021]The home The Mick grew up in and yard where he practiced are just a short distance from his high school and statue, at 319 S Quincy. The home and shed are not in great shape, but it appears efforts are being made to preserve them.

The home had been partly restored to the way it looked when Mickey -- feared slugger for the New York Yankees -- was seven, but the plaque is cracked and it looks like one of the front porch pillars is about to give way.
