Osgood, Indiana: Bilby Tower
Every time you use GPS, be thankful you don't have to pinpoint something the old-fashioned way -- by climbing a Bilby Tower. A rare relic from the early days of geodetic surveying. Has its own historical marker and parking lot.

- W. County Rd 300 N., Osgood, IN
- Directions:
- South edge of town. From US-421/S. Buckeye St. turn west at the storage facility onto W. County Rd 300 N. (Look for the historical marker). Drive a half-mile. There's a small parking lot on the left for the Tower.

Local hero Jasper S. Bilby designed the portable metal double-tower, 74 feet high, that was used to sight long distances in geodetic surveying from 1927 to 1984, until the towers were replaced with GPS technology. This particular tower was salvaged and erected here in 2013.
