The fish was sculpted in 2017 out of thousands of mosaic tiles by artist GiGi Miller. The Guadalupe Bass is the state fish of Texas.

- Louise Hays Park. On the south side of the Guadalupe River. From TX-16/Sidney Baker St. S. turn west at the stoplight onto Thompson Drive, then right into the Park. The fish is back by the splash pad.
