The dinosaurs -- a family of Triceratops -- were a 2020 Covid-19 quarantine project for local artist Pat Madison. He wanted to place them in Golden, but the city declined the offer, so he stood them in a field owned by some friends. The first Triceratops fossil was unearthed near Golden.
