South Padre Island, Texas: Largest Permanent U.S. Sand Castle
Built in October 2013 and has undergone many additions, subtractions, and modifications over the years. Although large for its building material, it's small compared to a real building.

- Take TX-100 across the Isabella Causeway onto South Padre Island. Make the first left onto Padre Blvd. Drive a quarter-mile. You'll see the sand castle on the right.

This is the largest outdoor permanent sand castle in the United States. It was originally built in October 2013 and is coming apart in some places, but overall it is in amazing shape. There is a convenient parking lot as it is connected to the Chamber of Commerce, or it is easily visible from the road. Check out the visitor's center for a map of other sand castle structures throughout the island.
