Soon after Aretha Franklin's passing, the Franklin Street subway stop on the 1 Train was renamed "Respect." At first I thought it was graffiti artist, but then I noticed the MTA logo in the corner. I thought it was temporary, but it's been up over two years since she passed away and is permanent. It is a loving, living tribute to a genius!
