Omak, Washington: Omak Rock

A large boulder balanced on top of a small rock. It's been like this for centuries. No crowds, unlike those other adoration-seeking balanced rocks.

Directions:
From the town of Omak drive east on WA-155 for one mile. Turn right onto Columbia River Rd/Omak Lake Rd. Drive 12.5 miles. Near the south end of Omak Lake, turn left onto Omak Lake Rd (a dirt road). Drive one mile. You'll see a dirt track on the right leading uphill a half-mile to the rock.

Omak Rock

A large boulder is balanced on top of another small rock. The boulder survived the 1872 North Cascades earthquake and is still perched there to this day.
