This eight-foot-high mechanical gong is diagonal from the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center at the corner of Senate and Lincoln Streets. The plaque reads: "For 30 years, Marvin Chernoff, head of Columbia's Chernoff/Silver Advertising Agency, sounded a going to celebrate creative excellence, big ideas, and success. Turn the handle, ring this gong, and signal your own success!"
