Montague, Massachusetts: Bridge of Names

Footbridge built in the 1970s had its sideboards carved with the names of hundreds of locals who helped maintain it. One name is of future celebrity magician Penn Jillette.

From MA-63 turn west at the Lake Pleasant sign onto Lake Pleasant Rd. Drive three-quarters of a mile. Turn right onto Adams St. Drive about 500 feet, and you'll see the bridge on the right.

Bridge of Names

A lovely bridge connects two neighborhoods in the Village of Lake Pleasant (part of Montague). Locals had their names carved into the side boards, including Penn Jillette!

The bridge was built in the 1970s. Lake Pleasant is the oldest continuous Spiritualist camp in the United States.
