They now have a Big Cheese monument, a replica of the giant wheel of cheese made by Cheshire residents in the early 1800s. It's installed alongside the Ashuwilticook Rail Trail.

The 1,235-pound cheese was presented to President Thomas Jefferson in 1802. White House guests nibbled on it for several years before it began to smell bad and was thrown away.
