The cave-like stalactites under the bridge are not caused by water seepage. They were original at the time of the bridge construction and were once much more elaborate. The interior of the underpass was intentionally sculpted and shaped to create an artificial cave as a form of decoration to give the walking path a more naturalistic appearance.
