On a six acre restored prairie site stands a sculpture representing a Norwegian immigrant family. The statue, sculpted by the late Clifford J. Carlson, is dedicated with gratitude to the thousands of immigrants who settled in the prairies of the upper Midwest in the 1800s. The immigrant family of the 1860s stand together ready to begin a new life. The immigrants went forward through the hardships that lay ahead to claim the Promise of America.
