Visitor Tips and News About Muffler Man Indian Chief

The Chief currently suffers from a substandard restoration. He looks like he was painted with a brush. He was painted without sanding. He had a ton of Bondo in him. We hope to get the sanding and bodywork done, get him in primer, and stand him up. Patrick Erm of Artworks Unlimited will (eventually) paint him, but right now time is what we need (and some experienced help would be nice).

It looks like the gentleman in Pomeroy that owns the Tie-Dye Muffler Man and the bikini-clad Uniroyal Gal just purchased a Big Chief Indian. It's in his storage lot on a trailer with him strapped for transport. The arms were not visible, but the position of the shoulder looks like the raised right hand. Some assembly required?

The Muffler Man was worked on by Bell Plastics in California. Statue owner David Webb plans to stand it next to an old neon sign for "John C Junker Real Estate," so the Indian's name will be John Chief Junker.
