This was the site of the famous nuclear accident of March 28, 1979. Quite an ominous structure, and the concrete containment building that covers facility unit 2 is clearly visible from the road.
[R Mogel, 09/08/2021]The Exelon Training Center across the road used to be the Three Mile Island Visitor Center, which had a nice gift shop with simulated nuclear fuel pellets, cooling tower coffee mugs, and Three Mile Island baseball caps.
