The shell of an old school bus has been converted into a ride-thru covered bridge for bicycles, next to a rural road.

- Southwest of town. From KY-114 turn south at the giant Abe Lincoln onto KY-404. Drive four miles. Turn left onto KY-1210/Caney Fork Rd. Drive about 100 yards and you'll see the bus-bridge on the right.

A school bus "bridge" is used for a biking and hiking path. The local mayor was responsible for the idea and the implementation of getting the bridge up; he gave us a personal tour of the bridge as well as the surrounding area. It's a cool little stop, and the lights on the bus work! The parking area is right next to it.

The recently completed 8.6-mile Prestonsburg Passage Rail Trail has a unique ride-thru covered bridge, made from the shell of an old school bus, over Caney Creek. A fun photo stop also accessible by car, although cars aren't allowed on the bike trail.
