There is a structure that resembles a submarine in the median of West Napoleon Avenue. I think it is the covering of a water pipe crossing, since standard water pipe crossings are found along the rest of Napoleon where the median is an open canal rather than a covered median like this small stretch of the street.
The structure is called the "USS Metairie" and has this name stenciled on it because of its resemblance to a submarine. There is no parking along Napoleon, so you have to park along a side street and then walk back to get a closer look or take photos.
