Made of either fiberglass or stucco, a large, unfriendly-looking pelican stands in someone's front yard.

- I-10 exit 228 onto Causeway Blvd south. Turn west on W. Napoleon Ave., the the second traffic light. Go past the submarine structure and turn north onto Athania Pkwy. The pelican will be ahead on the west side of the street. Private property; visible from the street.

A house in Metairie has a large white pelican statue against the front of the house. It appears to be made of fiberglass, but since it is in someone's yard I didn't get close enough to touch it. It is kind of scary looking and appears to be getting ready to land.
