The Butcher.

Jacques the Butcher

Three sculptures within a few yards of each other in the French Quarter were commissioned by the Friends of the Market in 1983 and represent typical people from 1800s New Orleans. The most interesting is named Jacques the Butcher, sculpted by Eric Caposta. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and is holding a piece of meat in his left hand. There is a small mural on a nearby wall, and one of the many people depicted in it is Jacques.
