The sculpture depicts an early 20th century paperboy wearing a hat, scarf, and winter coat, and commemorates the founding of the Charity Newsies on that spot in 1907. The Charity Newsies, still in existence, raises funds to donate clothes to children in need. The sculpture was designed by local artist Bruce Hanners, and installed in 2018.
