[Jason Horne, 05/31/2010]The Tech Tower [where Sideways is buried] has "TECH" written on each of its four sides, not just a giant "T." See also the nearby steam whistle on the west side of the building. It blows five minutes before the hour during the day.

Tombstone of Sideways the dog, lived at Georgia Tech for a couple of years before eating rat poison (a common theme from what I can tell). She was named "Sideways" because she was thrown from a car on North Avenue out in front of Tech in 1945, seriously injuring her, and giving her a kind of "sideways" appearance.
