Kermit, Texas: Armpit of Texas
A plaque on the ground just off of a paved road marks the state corner boundary between Texas and New Mexico. The plaque is all-business and doesn't use any colorful nicknames. This is Big Sky Southwest scrubby rangeland. Some find it entrancing.

Southeastern Corner of the State of New Mexico
Located approximately ten miles north of Kermit, Texas, there is a marker designating the geographic southeastern corner of the State of New Mexico. Also, on my phone, Google Maps referred to the location as the "Armpit of Texas." The marker is on the surface of the ground. There is no signage present giving directions to the site. There was one sign on a pole that is completed faded and unreadable.
