Cathedral Canyon

This place has been destroyed. The statue is busted to pieces and all of the items that were put there in years past are gone. I used to go there a lot and it was beautiful and peaceful. Now it's nothing but a big crater full of graffiti. Very disappointing!

Gates to Cathedral Canyon.

Cathedral Canyon

Deteriorating metal gates lead to what remains of Cathedral Canyon. Also saw a headless statue.

Cathedral Canyon Church - Desecration

When I visited this historical area I knew at first glance that it was a sacred and holy place. As I further gazed and went to explore the site, I was dismayed as to what had occurred over the years, total destruction to what was deemed at one time to be a very sacred and holy place. I am upset and feel very distraught as to what has happened there. I hope that what is currently left will be preserved so that future generations can see or view what was once a beautiful sanctuary.

Remnants of Cathedral Canyon.

Cathedral Canyon

Cathedral Canyon is almost completely gutted at this point. When I went to visit it with my girlfriend we found only one cracked and handless statue. Plenty of empty beer cans and smashed televisions, but no more statues. Between the empty canyon and broken bridge, the grave of the last Indian in Nevada and the echos of gunfire from the nearby "Front Site" training grounds it's pretty spooky.

Cathedral Canyon and Famous Outlaw

South of Pahrump, there is a road going west from Nevada 159 -- I think it's marked "Tecopa." As you drive west, you'll see a sign marked "Cathedral Canyon.". Drive to the parking lot and park. There is a little canyon with all kinds of weirddisplays, some religious, some not. This also is the reputed burial place of famous Indian outlaw Queho.
