Salt Lake City, Utah: Whale in a Traffic Circle
23 feet high with fins 40 feet wide, a rainbow-colored humpback whale breaches out of a bone-dry Salt Lake City intersection. Unveiled April 2022. Some locals, who had populated the traffic circle with garden gnomes, were unhappy.

It's very big, and a mural has been painted on it. The artist who created the whale also created the iguana statue at Red Iguana 2 restaurant in Salt Lake City.

A larger-than-life humpback whale breaches the surface of an urban roundabout. Created by artist Stephen Kesler, who also did the Red Iguana in Salt Lake City. It's titled, "Out of the Blue." A new mural will be painted on it every 3-5 years.
People are also placing gnomes statuettes around it, as the roundabout was previously occupied by a community of free-range Gnomes.
