Seligman, Arizona: Burma-Shave Signs

Burma-Shave went out of business in 1963. These replica signs were put up in 2021 by the Arizona Department of Transportation, as a way to get Route 66 drivers to slow down.

The signs begin (or end, depending on your travel direction) 1.5 miles west of Seligman on Route 66, between mileposts 139 and 138. Five sign sets each way extend for 15 miles.

Burma-Shave Signs

Just west of Seligman on old Route 66 are ten sets of Burma-Shave signs, a throwback to the original signs of the 1920s. There are five sets going westbound and five sets going eastbound.
