South Lake Tahoe, California: Magic Carpet Mini Golf

Three courses themed to fairy tales, dinosaurs, and a mishmash of fantasy and cultural landmarks.

A rather run down and hokey mini-golf course consisting of three courses rather inappropriately themed to fairy tales, dinosaurs, and some strange mishmash of fantasy and historical monuments. Unauthorized representations of Porky Pig and Bugs Bunny cavort within, among other concrete statues with creaky movement. The giant monkey has yellow light bulbs for eyes and you can even shoot a ball through a very slowly opening and closing alligator's mouth. A good place to stop and take mock horrified photos with cheesy concrete statues. Upon expressing a desire to purchase some of the wonderfully tacky postcards, I was told to just take them for free by the teenager working the cash register. To add to the fun, next door is a rather dilapidated amusement park full of minimally themed carnival rides.
