The Old Man in The Mountain is a natural formation in the rock.
[Les Neilson, 06/22/2007]I wonder how many residents of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland said "there but for the grace of god..." on learning of the recent passing of New Hampshire's Old Man of the Mountain, esteemed cousin to their own resident, but more colourful, 'Old Man of the Mountain.' Oozing personality, although cranky-looking, he has a large triangular pointed cap, a huge angular nose that takes up most of his face, a huge pointed chin the size of his cap, a grim slash of a mouth and 2 impressive very beady red eyes that stand out in contrast to the colour of the rest of the face. And it's all natural (I think). He resembles a fisherman looking down on Shellbird Island in the Humber River.
