The Broad Street bridge crossing the Blackstone River between Cumberland and Central Falls, Rhode Island, is the world's first Sri Chimnoy Peace Blossom Bridge. There have since been others, and most of them connect international borders, but this first one, from 1989, connects two Rhode Island towns. Sri Chimnoy was an Indian mystic who meditated on peace. He painted thousands of pictures, wrote thousands of poems, and advocated bodily strength. He died in 2007.
