Perhaps the message was that there was enough meat at the food court to make a longhorn steer, but we're just guessing. Reported gone in January 2024.

I was there 1/5/24. There was no longhorn steer to be found.

The longhorn steer is at the very front entrance of the casino, which is good since the smell of smoke as soon as you walk in is pretty overpowering. It's eh....ok.

[Gaylene, 06/11/2013]In the entrance to the food court at the Boomtown Casino is a large stuffed longhorn steer that was a pet. They have a placard giving all pertinent information about the animal. When I saw this I was not familiar with your web site.
[James Haarman, 06/21/2003]May 2006 - Tipster Stacey Lasister reports: "Since Hurricane Katrina the Boomtown Casino has been closed due to damage. It plans to open in the next few months. If the Steer is still there when they re-open I will send an updated photo."
