Missile

While the planes from the closed Octave Chanute Air Museum are now gone, the Air Force gave the village of Rantoul the missile that was on display, and it's still standing. It was supposed to be scrapped but was saved.

[Steven Townsend, 06/21/2022]

The missile served as a kind of signpost, alerting travelers where to turn off of US-45 to get to the museum. A few more years and people will wonder why it's here.
