Luverne is the town with more nutcrackers than people. The third largest nutcracker collection in the world resides in the History Center, museum of the Rock County Historical Society. Almost 5,000 nutcrackers (and nutcracker paraphernalia) peer at you from every corner. The town conducts a nutcracker game every Christmas season. For 2022 it is nutcracker hide-and-seek.

There's a massive collection of over 4,500 nutcrackers in the Rock County History Center, plus large wooden cutouts of nutcrackers all through the downtown.
[Paula, 07/04/2022]It's unsettling to stand in a room whose walls are lined with the toothy-jawed figures, even if you're not a nut. The History Center wants to eventually host more nutcrackers than people in Luverne (pop. 5,000). August 2022: Photo added.
