Is the inscription on the stone in Norse, Punic, Chinese, Ogham? Scholars in each field have claimed it as evidence of Old World settlement. What is known for certain is that in 1688 the stone was used as the doorstep of an Indian Meetinghouse, which precludes it as a fake. The stone is stored in the back room of the Museums at Aptucxet. Visit and decide for yourself who made the mysterious inscriptions.
