A 14-ft. tall Bunyan-style Muffler Man stood in Goldsboro until 2011, then went into storage. In 2018 he emerged in Wilmington at another White's Tires, then that closed and... back into storage!

There is one on south George Street in Goldsboro, N.C. It is at the old White's Tire Service. Hurricane Fran blew the poor fellow off the roof, and broke both of his legs off. He was repaired, and placed back on his lofty perch.
