The whole town of Scotia is owned by the Palco lumber company, which is neat. But they have a free tour of the lumber mill, a demonstration forest and a salmon and trout hatchery which is fascinating. I have seen how they remove the bark from 100-foot tall trees with a high pressure water jet, which is unbelievable! My teenagers and I spent several hours touring the whole place.
