Salt Lake City, Utah: Christian School: Folk Art Site (Gone)

The 50-year vision of Ralphael Plescia, who called the building "Christian School" and was inspired by the biblical book of Revelation. He died, age 84, in Aug. 2022. The building was bulldozed in May 2025.

Yeah, it's definitely closed, but untouched so far.

The folk art site "Christian School" was the 50-year vision of Ralphael Plescia who died in 2022. Its interior is reportedly filled with amazing/bizarre art that is part of the building, which means that all of it might be bulldozed.

I visited Christian School, and there was nothing obvious that would suggest there is something inside to view. So whatever artwork that might have been here does not seem to be there any longer. The outside remains very artsy. I didn't stay long, as this area of town is a bit sketchy.

A preservationist group that restored Salt Lake City's Gilgal Garden hopes to restore Christian School, but for now the building remains closed, its interior artwork locked up.
