- Overlooks the harbor. From downtown drive south on ME-73/Main St. When you reach the railroad crossing turn left onto Crescent St. Drive to the end. When it turns right and becomes Atlantic St., you'll see the memorial on the left.

Two 3-D sailor ghosts -- all you see are their clothes -- face aft on a 2-D metal boat, symbolizing a sea funeral. The entire crew of 33, including five from New England, died when the SS El Faro sank in 2015.

I didn't see any plaques, but it looks like the names of the sailors lost are etched into the statue. There isn't parking nearby, but we were able to pull over onto some gravel. It only takes a few minutes to see.
